with Melissa Malm and Jim Berns
Ortho-Bionomy Advanced Circle Theory Applications
June 26-27
Portland, OR
9am-6pm
Class Description
Throughout the body, every area (including muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, and fascia) can show us which way it is restricted and which way it moves more easily. Using the analogy of a circle, we can determine a direction to facilitate self-correction.
Ortho-Bionomy uses comfortable movements and positions to support proprioceptive neuromuscular self-correction. In this class, we will be teaching multiple Ortho-Bionomy techniques: foundational positional releases; Isometrics; hands-on energy work; and unwinding.
The gentle, painless nature of this work makes it an ideal modality for people experiencing deep pain, including highly sensitive people, and can be a safe & effective way to work with somatic trauma. It can be integrated into any massage or bodywork session, is comforting for the client to receive, and is easy on the practitioner to do.
